A long Goodbye, but what to?

While news has been dominated lately by the Chinese virus pandemic, BREXIT is still a concern, especially for us here in Ulster. The Northern Ireland Protocol leaves us estranged from the UK, with the \’leader\’ of Unionism agreeing to implement the arrangements to facilitate the introduction of a border in the sea, dividing us from the mainland, while basically the border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland will disappear. Because of the impending introduction of tariffs for goods arriving here from mainland GB, we will see British companies pull out of Northern Ireland, due to having to pay tariffs to move goods to what is another part of the UK. Northern Ireland remains under the control of Brussels, not Westminster. And why? Due to the insistance of the self proclaimed \’leader\’ of Unionism, demanding (as do her Republican bed-fellows), that Northern Ireland have special status. Well, be careful what you wish for, as under the Northern Ireland Protocol, Northern Ireland is not a fully functioning part of the UK. The border should have been implemented where it is, dividing this part of the UK from the EU in the Republic. A \”hard border\” was never imposed for trade, it was there to try to prevent Rebuplican murder squads from operating with impunity.

Unfortunately, our long goodbye appears to be to Northern Ireland as part of the UK and not to leaving the EU.

Will there be a Northern Ireland as part of the UK to celebrate next year?

With world events picking up pace, it will not be long until the trumpet sounds!!
